Trial attractiveness
At James Lind Care, our Trial Attractiveness model provides a genuine understanding of the patients’ interest in a specific clinical trial.
The Trial Attractiveness model represents the patients’ view and perception of a clinical study. We have identified five factors: Incentives, Benefit, Purpose, Ease and Intervention reflecting the patients’ interest and desire to participate in any given study.

Patient Attractiveness Analysis
James Lind Care offers sponsors a trial attractiveness analysis. This allows patient centricity of the protocol to be improved during clinical development or prior to enrolment initiatives.
We apply the five-factor trial attractiveness model to the specific protocol and then conduct qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys among the exact patient group.
The key questions of the trial attractiveness analysis:
- What characterises the target patient segment in terms of burden of disease, QoL, and existing treatment opportunities?
- How is the trial design perceived by the patient segment?
- Which elements may create challenges in patient enrolment?
- How could the attractiveness of the trial design be improved?
The results from the patient interviews and surveys are analysed and concluded in the trial attractiveness report.
Prior to engaging in any patient enrolment activity, James Lind Care performs an attractiveness analysis of the trial. This to ensure that whatever we do is in the interest of our members and to provide a tool for the sponsor to improve patient-centricity.
